Amanda and I have just returned to St. Louis after a whirlwind four-day trip to New York where the folks at Kravet planned a series of events that took us from the renowned Kips Bay Showhouse to the top of the Hearst Tower. Blogfest 2013 brought bloggers from across the country together for a unique two-day experience that showcased their products, their partners and their city.
The event kicked off with a cocktail party hosted by Jonathan Adler on Sunday evening. Monday, after an early morning run through glorious Central Park, we headed across town to the 41st Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House followed by a luncheon sponsored by HGTV magazine. With a priceless view of the city from the 44th floor of the Hearst Tower, we enjoyed a lunch accompanied by absolutely DIVINE macaroons (I stopped myself at three).
Keynote speakers included the charming Thom Filicia and Alexa Hampton, whose wit and candid conversation won us over in an instant. Later that evening we enjoyed cocktails at Newel where floor after floor of antiques left us in absolute awe. It was truly unlike any place I’ve ever experienced. Finally, Tuesday morning the team at Kravet gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of their design studios. Have a peek at a few pics from our trip below and stay tuned for a closer look at the showhouse and design studios in our upcoming posts.
