Join us on Wednesday, August 21 for an accredited CEU hosted by Alex Shuford III, President and CEO of Century Furniture and Rock House Family of Brands. This course offers a practical deep dive into understanding how pattern placement, fabric type, and direction can dramatically influence the aesthetic and functionality of furniture pieces.
In addition to our Lunch & Learn event, KDR outside sales representative, Maggie Parker, and senior sales associate, Kelly Specht, will be hosting a trunk show from 9 am – 3 pm. Source the newest collections of fabric, wallcovering, trim, and rugs for summer 2024.
Catered lunch will be provided.

Meet Alex Shuford III
Alex Shuford III joined Century Furniture in 2000 and was named President in 2013. He has worked in numerous capacities for the company, including VP of Sales & Marketing and VP of Century. He has since guided the company through the successful acquisition of Hickory Chair, Pearson and Maitland Smith in 2017 and most recently St. Timothy and the assets of Classic Leather in 2023.
Alex grew up in the furniture business. His grandfather, Harley F. Shuford, founded Century Furniture. Prior to moving back to North Carolina to join the family business, Alex owned and operated his own retail store group in Northern California for seven years.
Alex is a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker, fluent in the lexicon of retailing, product development and marketing to the luxury segment.
